FIVA will provide a binder with four holes at the course.

Please install DUE on your own laptop and bring it to the course. DUE does not require any specific installation, it just needs to be unzipped. Please make sure that you also have the following installed before you arrive:

(1) Java
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6.0 or higher
 
(2) R software
The R software (version 2.8 or higher) can be downloaded from: http://www.r-project.org/
Once installed, the packages can be downloaded and installed very easily from within the R GUI.  Go to: Packages > Install packages > select a mirror site and then select the package to install.  Repeat this for each of the packages: foreign, RColorBrewer, rgdal, sp, maptools, gstat, lattice.
 
(3) Landserf
Landserf (http://www.soi.city.ac.uk/~jwo/landserf/download). This is a simple GIS. It may be substituted with another tool that can plot grid ASCII and ESRI shape files (e.g. ArcView or ArcGIS).
