The influence of water availability on biochemical, physiological and agronomical aspects of potatoes.
Involvement in research projects:
Improved Organic Fertiliser Management for High Nitrogen and Water use Efficiency and Reduced Pollution in crop systems (FertOrgaNic), EU-financed project (QLRT-2001-01799): The project aims at enhancing the use of various organic fertilisers in farming systems and develop new management strategies to improve the water and nitrogen use efficiency and hence to reduce the environmental pollution.
Irrigation From a Holistic Resource Perspective 2003-2006, Financed by the Directorate for Food, Fisheries and Agri Business Research Office. The main objective of the project is to enhance the water and nitrogen use efficiencies in irrigated agriculture and hence reduce production costs as well as pollution and exploitation of limited ground water resources and aquatic ecosystems.
Safe and High Quality Food Production using Low Quality Waters and Improved Irrigation Systems and Management (SAFIR). EU-financed project (FOOD-CT-2005-023168. The objective of SAFIR is to develop irrigation management and water saving technology for production of high quality and safe vegetable crops using low quality water resources.
