Research interests:

Large-scale hydrological modeling

Integrated water resources management

Hydro-economic system modeling and optimization

Water resources monitoring & characterization using remote sensing and airborne/ground-based geophysical methods

Involvement in research projects:

“Modeling concepts for the sustainable management of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, Yucatan, Mexico”. In cooperation with the Geological Survey of Austria, the Centro de Investigación Cinetífica de Yucatán, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Århus University and Amigos de Sian Ka’an.

“HYDROGRAV: Improving large-scale hydrological models with ground-based and space-borne time-lapse gravity surveys”. In cooperation with the Danish National Space Center.

“Flooding and salt transport in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Improved quantitative understanding based on remote sensing and airborne geophysics”.
In cooperation with Botswana’s Department of Water Affairs and ETH Zurich.
